This session focuses on the need of civil designers for item pricing data to make design trade-offs and do value engineering throughout the design process. The presentation describes the use of a bid tab service to obtain and integrate unit prices automatically with Bentley’s design systems. The database is intended to be available as a web service interfaced to the design systems to eliminate redundant data entry. Attendees will learn how to automatically generate accurate and fast cost estimates.
